Hydrothermal synthesis of [Zn.sub.2]Sn[O.sub.4] as anode materials for Li-ion battery
Article Abstract:
Spinel [Zn.sub.2]Sn[O.sub.4] particles are prepared by a hydrothermal reaction under different conditions and the electrochemical properties of as-prepared products as anode material are tested. The results have shown that the spinel [Zn.sub.2]Sn[O.sub.4] structure exists to a great extent after the first cycle and contributes to the extremely high reversible capacity during the following cycles.

Synthesis of CoOOH nanorods and application as coating materials of nickel hydroxide for high temperature Ni-MH cells
Article Abstract:
The synthesis of CoOOH nanorods and their possible applications as coating materials on nickel hydroxide for high temperature nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) cells is reported. The results show that the Ni-MH cells where the positive electrodes are composed of such nanometer sized CoOOH coatings, have a higher capacity available and a good performance at elevated temperatures of >50 degree Celsius.

Preparation and electrochemical hydrogen storage of boron nitride nanotubes
Article Abstract:
Boron nitride (BN) nanotubes are synthesized through chemical vapor deposition over a wafer made by a LaNi5/B mixture and nickel powder at 1473 K. Suggestions are given regarding the BN nanotubes where the possible existence of strong chemisorption of hydrogen leads to lower discharge capacity of the BN nanotubes.
